RF/CONVECTION HEATING SIMULATOR DETERMINES
ACTUAL PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS

A process heating simulator which can evaluate production applications for drying temperature-sensitive products or where uniform dryness is essential for products ranging from thin webs up to five foot thick cross sections is available from Radio Frequency Co., Inc. of Millis, Massachusetts.

Macrowave™ OmniTherm™ Simulator

The Macrowave™ OmniTherm™ Simulator can apply RF and convection heat to diverse materials under a wide range of conditions and determine the scale- up requirements for actual production applications. RF drying candidates include temperature-sensitive materials, products with non-uniform moisture content, and where it is desirable to speed drying and minimize floor space.

Capable of simulating multiple heating zones, The Macrowave™ OmniTherm™ Simulator employs RF heat to preferentially (volumetrically) heat and dry the moist areas of products such as biscuits and crackers, synthetic foams, textiles, water-based coatings and adhesives on webs, ceramics prior to firing, and a wide range of bulk materials that are poor heat conductors.
